Internet Archive:

Have you used the Internet Archive for genealogy research?  It's a terrific source for family histories, books, census records (through the 1930 census) immigration records, and more!  The Wayback Machine preserves copies of web sites (especially useful if the site is no longer available).  Here are several Youtube videos that detail how to make the use of the site:

The Story County Genealogical Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and donations are tax deductible to the extent of the law.

Financial contributions are used to purchase genealogy materials which are housed at the Ames Public Library, provide programs and speakers at our regular meetings and Genealogy Plus!, and fund education programs.  Your donation helps us to continue providing quality educational genealogy. programs and offerings.

The Story County Genealogical Society, a charter member of the Iowa Genealogical Society, was formed in 1968 in central Iowa.  Membership is open to all persons interested in genealogical, biographical, and historical research.
